Happy late Friday + Long Weekend + Fun in the Sun + BBQ + whatever else you may be doing this weekend. A look at the weather tells me that things have the potential to be really, really, really GREAT! I'm crossing my fingers, though, 'cause, you never know. Serious sidebar--I went out for a long run last Saturday and of course, it all went downhill after I got out far beyond the point of no return. See, when I started, the weather was fantastic--absolutely perfect. However, once I got to the Charles River, it started raining CATS AND DOGS and did not let up until I was completely miserable. And of course, because things started out fine, I left my cash and train pass at home so I had to endure miles of wetness. Ugh.
Despite that, the weather here has been spectacular and I am finally motivated to put the winter wardrobe away with the moth balls and bring out the warm weather gear! I'm also motivated to eat lots of really good (but really bad) cool treats and these two motivations, in summation (cause we like to ADD around here) got me thinking seriously about what to wear this summer.
My favorite summer treats during my youth were those yummy creamsicles...OMG. I'm so surprised that I don't have diabetes. I mean, biting into that cold popsicle-esque shell and into that creamy center is the stuff of fantastic dreams. I mean, heavenly. As I've grown older, I don't care too much for the taste but eek ghads do I ever love the color....and this J. Peterman Short-Sleve 1947 Dress...in orange, creamsicle orange! And yes, I got the other one too, primairly because I'm compulsive. I love this fit. Timeless.
By the way, that creamsicle illustration...I ran across the fascinating work of Stephen Bailey who, of course, makes mouth watering illustraitions of FOOD! Yummy. If you like food inspired art like I do, check out his Food and Product Portfolio! Oh my.
So, what are the plans for the long weekend? I want to go to the beach, devour a bag of salt-water taffy, treat myself to a lobster roll, develop a severe tan line, and build a sand castle. I have not done ANY of these things in AGES!
Over and out, my friends! Have a great weekend!
